Easy asymmetrical shawl, in a reversible ribbed pattern. Directions include color pictures, very detailed knitting instructions, charted instructions, and definitions of stitches used. This pattern is easily accomplished by an advanced beginner to intermediate knitter.
The bold geometric lines of the leaf and vine pattern used for this shawlette give it an art deco feel. Increases create a slight curve which helps keep the shawlette wrapped around your shoulders and neck. The stitch pattern is simple enough to memorize, yet spicy enough to keep it interesting. Also, because the stitch pattern is reversible, there are endless ways to wear this piece. It can be folded, wrapped, tied and worn as a shawl, cowl or scarf. Experiment with different yarns…wool for a warmer shawl, cotton or linen for a beautiful summer wrap.

Deco Leaf Cowl
The bold geometric lines of the leaf and vine pattern used for this cozy/cowl give it an art deco feel. If women wore cowls in the 30’s and 40’s I imagine they might look like this one. Make this pattern in the cozy size (small/medium) to fit close around your neck or make it in the cowl size (large/x-large), for more drape. The stitch pattern takes on a beautiful lacy look when knit in sock weight or fingering weight yarn, and is great for wearing indoors or in warmer climates. Because the stitch pattern is reversible, the cowl can be folded over to adjust the height.
Materials Needed for Cowl:
