SnoFall Scarf Knitting Pattern by Lavender Hill Knits

A snowstorm of bobbles float over a range of lacy mountain peaks on this crescent shaped scarf.  This fun scarf is knit in two contrasting colors, one for the border and one for the body, or use one color for the entire scarf.  The crescent shape forms a gentle curve which helps keep the scarf in place when draped around the shoulders.  It also creates a nice cowl when wrapped around the neck.  So many ways to wear this beautiful scarf!

Advanced beginner to intermediate, ability to read charts is helpful.  

Knitting stitches used:

knit stitch, purl stitch, yarn overs, bobble.
Both written and charted instructions are used.

Materials: 

840 yards of fingering weight yarn – 420 yards each of two contrasting colors
Yarn used for scarf in photos:  Tosh Merino Light by Madeline Tosh, “Astrid Grey” used for edging, “Dr. Zhivagos Sky” used for body.
Size US 5 (3.75mm) straight needles and 29” or longer circular knitting needles 
Stitch markers 

Gauge:

17 stitches and 48 rows over 4” in garter stitch, blocked.

Finished size after blocking:

approximately 56” end to end and 12” long at center, scarf can also be made longer.
