Nashville Hipster Bag Knitting Pattern by Lavender Hill Knits

The Nashville Bag is a fun, feminine bag that compliments your little black dress and patent leather pumps to jeans and cowgirl boots to shorts and flip-flops.
It is the perfect size to hold essentials: lipstick, cell phone, iPod, wallet, make-up and more. You can tuck it into a larger tote when you go to work, or diaper bag if you're a busy mom. Take it out when you are ready to go to lunch, out after work or run into the store and not have to bring your huge tote.
The Nashville Hipster Bag can be made with a felted strap or a fabric strap. You can make the strap any length you choose so it can be a shoulder bag or cross-body bag. Included with the pattern is a tutorial on how to make a fabric strap for your bag and a lining.

Skill level: advanced beginner - if you can knit, purl, cast-on and bind-off you can knit this bag! Also, if you can sew a straight line you can make the fabric strap and lining!!!

Pattern directions include color pictures, very detailed knitting instructions, definitions of stitches used and complete instructions for felting the bag in your washing machine. You will also receive my tutorial "How To Make a Lining and Strap for Your Hipster Bag"

Materials needed: 
440 yards of 100% wool worsted weight yarn
size 10.5 (6.5mm) 24” circular knitting needle

If you wish to line your bag:
fabric
heavy duty interfacing approximately
magnetic closure
1' d-ring or rectangular ring and 1" metal slide or strap adjuster

Gauge: 

3.5 sts per inch, 5.5 rows per inch using size 10.5 needles and worsted weight wool yarn (gauge isn’t really important since the bag is going to be felted, just make sure your stitches are loose so the felting process can take place adjust needle size if necessary)

Finished size after felting: 

9” (23cm) across, 8” (20.5cm) tall (from base to top of handle), 1.5” (3.5cm) deep
