Sherbrooke Cowl Knitting Pattern
Sherbrooke Cowl Knitting Pattern
Sherbrooke Cowl Knitting Pattern from the ~Hot Chocolate Pattern Collection~ by Lavender Hill Knits
As a knitter, there’s nothing better than a little quiet time to myself. I grab my latest knitting project, make a cup of hot chocolate and curl up in a cozy chair…a crackling fire is also a nice addition. It’s even better if my project is interesting, but doesn’t require too much thinking so my mind can wander while I knit. The patterns in this collection will have no charts and can be finished in a reasonable amount of time by knitter’s of all levels. They make great gifts and provide a little coziness when the weather gets chilly. They’re even great take-along projects when quiet time is scarce and you must knit on the go. I hope you enjoy creating them!
The Sherbrooke Cowl was inspired by a visit to Quebec to visit a University with my son. Just a short drive to the north and we were immersed in French language, Canadian hospitality and beautiful mountains and countryside. The cowl begins with an eyelet edging, then a simple cabled lace border gently drapes the shoulders, and converges into tiny ribbed eyelet cables that hug the neck. Buttons add visual interest, make it easy to put on and take off, and create different ways to wear the cowl. There are no charts as the cabled lace pattern is a simple repeat and no cable needles are required.
